Result-performance Management (R-pM) manages three classes of human capital performance solutions

Rule number Eight of the Ten Rules for 21st Century Management is Manage human personnel, capability, and knowledge capital to increase human worth.

Result-performance Management (R-pM) provides three classes of human capital:

  • Human Personnel Capital: Readiness capital solutions in internal or external individuals deployed to be ready to produce a set of results as managed
  • Human Capability Capital: Production capital solutions deployed to provide a specific capability required by the process in order to produce a specific high-value result
  • Human Knowledge Capital: Information capital in specific knowledge solutions for human capability development and operation to utilize performance solutions to produce specific results

With R-pM, Human Capital Management is responsible for managing personnel capital to keep humans ready to produce routine results, development and deployment of human capabilities when needed to produce high-value results, and development and provision of human knowledge capital that specifically develops and supports the human performance needed to produce results.

Human Capability is the most important performance solution determining the value-quality of results

The human capability performance solution is the human performance solution that is actually applied to produce a result. Human capability is a production class solution that is integrated with the business processes, facility supplies, and management tactics and utilized directly to produce a specific result. For any non-repetitive result, human capability capital is the most important performance solution determining the quality and value of the result.

Human capability capital is the capability, such as salesmanship, systems analysis, creative writing, customer handling, product problem solving, maintenance expertise, research and conclusion development, logistics management, etc. The performance solution is the capability. The enterprise should have more than one human personnel solution with the capability that can be deployed, as a human capability, to produce the result.

Human knowledge solutions are used to develop human capability solutions

Knowledge is human information capital that drives the business by enabling humans to produce high value-quality results. Knowledge can reside internally as a human capability solution or be accessed as needed to utilize a specific performance solution or produce a specific result.

Human knowledge solutions are developed as learning programs or various aids to be used by human personnel solutions to develop a particular capability to produce specific results.

Human capabilities needed are developed or recruited

The human capability performance manager is responsible for maintaining human capital with the capability, which can be deployed to produce the result. Specific human capabilities needed to produce results are high-worth capital that normally requires a person with a specific aptitude, innate capabilities, or set of experience.

Most human capital development in 21st Century Management is to develop specifically required human capabilities. If the particular capability cannot be developed, recruitment of the capability may be required. An individual with the capability may be deployed full-time to the set of results requiring the capability or deployed to other results and redeployed when the capability is needed.

Human capability capital must be known and managed

Each individual working in the enterprise is a human personnel solution. Human personnel may be deployed as a personnel solution to produce a set of results. The human personnel solution works as directed by the result manager for the set.

Some human personnel solutions will also provide one or more human capability solutions. The human capability solutions provide greater human capital worth and enable deployment to manage or produce higher-value results. Human capabilities are important strategic capital which is required to produce new or improved results. As R-pm is utilized in an enterprise more human capability requirements are recognized, defined, and managed.

Human capability solutions are planned in the strategic business structure with the capital development required to develop and provide the human knowledge solutions required to develop capabilities, and to develop the specific capabilities required for new or improved results. Human capability capital enables high-worth human capital to develop to increase their worth and to demonstrate their worth by producing high-value and high-quality results.
